V Hayward - Designer
V is an Ecoscenographer, designing sets, costumes and puppets for live performance. They trained at Wimbledon College of Arts where they conducted research into the intersection of ecological awareness and performance design, which has had a large influence on all their work.
Alongside this, V also takes a lot of inspiration from folktales, myth and storytelling culture mixed with the use of traditional crafts with natural or found materials when designing shows. Having played music and sung since a young age, V particularly enjoys designing for opera, dance and theatre shows with a strong musical element, as they provide an extra creative facet to bounce off of during creative collaborations.
When not designing for the stage, V creates their own solo mixed-media art from these same principles, and has taught workshops, particularly in ceramics and mixed crafts, for a number of years at local art centres and schools.
